Part 12028206 Gas Cooktop Thermocouple
Purpose
Monitors burner flames for safety.
Details
This genuine OEM thermocouple is a vital safety sensor engineered for gas cooktop and range burner systems. Positioned directly next to the burner head, it generates a small electrical signal when heated by an active flame, keeping the internal gas safety valve open. If the flame accidentally blows out, the thermocouple cools rapidly and interrupts the signal, causing the valve to snap shut and cut off the gas supply. Symptoms of failure include a burner that ignites when holding down the knob but goes out immediately when released, or a burner that fails to remain lit during low-simmer operations.
Included Items
Includes one individual gas burner thermocouple sensor. Required installation tools typically include a screwdriver set and an open-ended wrench.
