Details
The washing machine drum shock absorber attaches to the outer tub and the base of the cabinet frame to absorb kinetic energy during operation. It counteracts the massive centrifugal forces generated during high-speed extraction phases, keeping the tub stabilized and level. When shock absorbers wear out or lose their internal resistance, the washer will shake violently, migrate across the floor, or create loud thumping noises as the unbalanced drum hits the outer cabinetry. Replacing worn absorbers preserves the integrity of other structural parts like the tub springs and bearings.
