Details
The freezer door gasket (color: black) attaches along the inner perimeter perimeter of the freezer door frame to create a tight, insulated seal against the refrigerator cabinet when closed. This flexible rubber barrier prevents warm, humid ambient room air from entering the freezing compartment while keeping cold air securely trapped inside. Over several years of regular door openings and closings, the rubber can become brittle, dry out, warp, split, or tear. Common symptoms of a failing door gasket include cold air noticeably leaking from around the door, frost or ice accumulation on packages and inner walls, increased humidity inside the compartments, or higher energy bills due to the compressor running constantly to maintain target temperatures.
